An Open Letter to Oregon Lawmakers: Please Bring...
Dear Senator Shields & Representative Kotek,
I am writing to urge immediate change to the outdated legislation that prevents home-brewed beer from being transported and shared in places other than the home in which it was brewed. I have been a hobby homebrewer for just over a year, and have brewed beer for friends’ weddings and parties, to the delight of many. With the recent OLCC...

The "Horror" of Hypocrisy
I’ve come to the conclusion that the greatest “sin” that anyone can commit in America today is hypocrisy. Last week, it was a headline reading “Anti-Gay Lawmaker At Gay Club Before DUI Arrest” that was trumpeted all around the liberal blogs. I even saw it as a friend’s Facebook status update, with many comments saying, “Hahaha, look at this jerk, this just...
An Open Email to Congressman Earl Blumenauer
Congressman Blumenauer,
I have contacted you several times in the past regarding the attempt to reform health care that is currently being considered in the US Congress. I urge you once again to vote NO on the bill that has been presented for consideration through the process of reconciliation.
You must vote NO because this bill does not respect the conscience of a majority of Americans on the...

Andy is just the most interesting tech writer out there. His reviews of tech products are readable enough for the layman, and yet in-depth enough to interest the technogeek. He peppers his columns with fun references, and isn’t afraid to let you know his biases. Hit him up for a great read!

Grandpa Wallace's Obituary
Jerry Wallace, who launched Hinzerling Winery in Prosser, Washington, in 1976, passed away Jan. 6. He was 90.
Wallace was a Seattle police officer beginning in 1944. At one time, he was the Seattle mayor’s personal security office and driver. He retired in 1968 and took over security for the Federal Way School District.
In 1972, he and his family moved east of the Cascades to Prosser,...

An Email to the President
Mr. President, I urge you to maintain the language and intent of the Stupak-Pitts Amendment that was passed as part of H. R. 3962. You recently appeared on ABC television and said that you think that the language needs to be changed regarding abortion coverage, because you wanted to pass a health care bill, not an abortion bill.
Stupak-Pitts simply ensures that this IS a health care bill by...

And people wonder why I’m stunned?
“…less than two weeks after Obama’s inauguration.”
Sheep.
The world’s intelligentsia have really fallen for the snow job, eh? Not a single tangible thing to show over the last 10 months, except words, words, words.
Oh, and the largest federal budget deficit ever. And it’s still climbing.
Absolutely stunning.

Another Example: White House Out of Touch
The NYT has a piece this morning highlighting the President’s appearing on five Sunday news chat-shows yesterday. In a notable (and intentional) slight, the White House declined to appear on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, and tried to take the high road in the process, according to the NYT:
“We figured Fox would rather show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ than broadcast an honest...

Do It Right, or Don't Do It At All
“The current national debate about health care reform should concern all of us. There is much at stake in this political struggle, and also much confusion and inaccurate information being thrown around. My brother bishops have described some clear “goal-posts” to mark out what is acceptable reform, and what must be rejected. First and most important, the Church will not accept any...
