Here Comes The Show
Focus the Nation is getting ready to start in the Chiles Center. While I am not necessarily convinced that the science is 100% on the side of the global warming folks, I do drive a shared car (Zipcar) and install flourescent bulbs when I can. So on this issue, like many others, I find myself professing one thing and acting in another way. Oh well, we’ll see how this goes…

Q for Blumenauer: What are strengths and weaknesses of Cap-and-Trade legislation?
Ans: The current bill (McCain/Lieberman) gets us 75% of the way to where we need to be. The President declared that he’ll veto a tax increase, and this bill would create up to $200bn in value savings that should make it acceptable to business in spite of the immediate costs.
