Perfect Pineapple Bars
20 oz crushed pineapple 2 cups chopped dates 3 cups oats 1 cup wheat germ 1 cup coconut 1 cup chopped walnuts 3/4 tsp salt 1 1/4 cup orange juice 1/4 cup favorite oil (we use coconut)Combine pineapple and dates in a saucepan. Reading the excellent Pepys’ Diary blog (previously linked), I realized that this whole navel-gazing thing that is blogging is so… OLD! It’s thoroughly entertaining to think that the simple act of annotating one’s day in journal form has made someone as boring as Pepys into a famous person. Lucky stiff.
