Ans: The Dems have shifted monies from the oil companies to investment in green techs. This could go bipartisan in future.

Q for State Representative Dingfeld: How is Oregon going to make initiatives to promote less energy waste?

Ans: We’re working to tighten building codes and will do so in 2008-09.

Q for State Senator Westlund: What can Oregon learn from Gemany, which has one of the leading solar power rates in the world?

Ans: We need to increase the return on business investment in green techs like solar, including selling power back to the grid from solar arrays on buildings.

Q for Gov. K: Is Oregon looking to LNG to serve as a stopgap solution until solar and wind and other renewable techs become practical?

Ans: Yes. It’s the only way to get us out of the Middle East and keep things going until the future techs can replace the oil and coal power that everyone agrees are bad. (Boos from a few in the crowd!)
