Saving Chrysler by Fiat
When the financial crisis in Detroit finally is settled, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that we taxpayers had been manipulated by a cabal of investors who have their hooks deep within the Obama administration.
Listening to today’s lead story on NPR about Fiat (the Italian carmaker) circling like a vulture over Chrysler’s almost-dead body, I grew increasingly convinced that there is some sort of hanky-panky going on behind the scenes. Why is President Obama pushing so hard for this shotgun marriage? He’s given Chrysler 30 days to restructure and finish the deal with Fiat, or he’s going to let the company go to bankruptcy. When that happens, Fiat will get what they want for pennies (or should I say, Euro-pennies) on the dollar. Either way, Chrysler plants start making Fiats.
By pushing for this to be done in 30 days, we the people are denied the chance to really sort through the plan and discover its shortcomings. You can’t see the flaws of something rushing past you - to use an apt analogy, try looking in detail at a car speeding by in the other direction on the freeway. Only in hindsight will we see what got intentionally hidden in the process. Didn’t the Obama administration learn _anything _ from pushing for quick passage of the AIG bailout? Don’t they remember last month’s executive bonus debacle?
Watch the news, folks, and wait for the stories about Italy and the Obama administration. The scandal will come out eventually, and we’ll all see that we got worked over.
